    Tip in 2004 S4

    :s4addict:

Have any Tiptronic cars been delivered? If so about when? How is the new 6 speed and the paddle shift?
Is the change fast and solid or squishy?
Are you sorry or happy you selected the "tip"?

    Welcome!

Production starts at week 45 so you may have to wait till 2004.

    Tiptronic

I understood that the tiptronic will come with paddles
however you should not expect a fast ratio such as with
a sequential gearbox ( like the M3) allthough they
have again improved their tiptronic gearbox . Audi has developed a sequential gearbox DSG which will be introduced in the Audi TT
I spoke the Audi if they have planned the same for the S4
however they informed me that this is technically not possible
due to the position the engine is placed.

I have ordered mine with tiptronic !! :s4addict:

I heard from Audi at IAA that the S4 with manual vs. tip is completely different feeling. Not saying any onf the are bad or better than the other, just different.

    tip vs manual

That must be true , i have had manual cars al the way
last a chipped 330 i , which sometimes is quite nervous.
and after the testdrive my conclusion was that with this power
it would probably be more comfortable to have an automated
gearbox. It was also advised by PON (dutch audi)
out of their experience with similar cars . I guess that
manual gb gives you a more racy feeling.

I will let you know once i have driven it.

Did they have one with tip at IAA ???

Yep, still have the 2.7T, and yes the S4 is much faster. But I have more room

    www.mtm-online.de is MTMs webpage.
