R8 gets a beating from an A3 and a GTI

Well, obviously they're both not standard.

So what, I bet everyone of those 2.0 tfsi tuned drivers will kill to own an R8. Is just no way to compare them...

    likely they would not.

but i've met some stage 3+ B5 S4's that put down over 400 hp and almost 500 lb/ft of torque that could obliterate a 997 TT!!!!

Its always a bit silly to compare forced induction cars with normal aspirated cars.

I'd like to see it beat the R8 from a rolling start... Nice not to show what speeds the pulls are done at.

Well maybe try using a R8 with forced induction to make your comparisons? But to me the R8 is NOT a dragster type car. That was never its designed purpose. People can throw any kind of extra HP power goody and make almost ANY kind of car go fast in a straight line. And I'm sure street racing people care about such things. Not me.

The R8 is a very complete hi performance GT, road racing type sports car. Nothing more; nothing less. I can understand making very valid comparisons of the R8 to Porsches, or Ferraris, or Corvettes, or Lotus or Nobles or GT-R's on quality road courses. The other stuff is pretty meaningless as a measure of the R8.

although i have to admit these cars can not be compared, show them a track and the R8 will probably outrun them easily, one must admit that the performance shown on this video is outstanding. Being a little lazy, and not knowing for sure, i'm going to bet the R8 is lighter than the GTI/A3 family... (please correct me if i am wrong)

the R8 has twice the cylinders and twice the displacement, however the punny gti keeps up with the R8 in a straight line.... i am amaized here guys... those engines are fantastic!!

Yeah, I know. It's not comparable. They can tune the R8 and then we are back to '0'.

I just wanted to show you guys.
