    Got my RS6 January, but I have been too busy to write anything here. Here is some fact.

    Audi RS6 2003, driven now 52500km
    Mugelloblau perleffek (mugelleblue pearleffect)
    Naviplus with bose
    Multifunction steering wheel
    SBS (speech control for navi, phone etc)
    Sun roof
    Cruise
    white leather
    Winter package
    19" summer wheels with tire pressure monitoring
    18" winter wheels
    APR software, 520hp with 98 RON octane (93 POM octane) and 560hp with race fuel
    APR catback
    Sport suspension

    And very bad picture of the pipes, taken with my mobile phone. Whatta clean car

    This one was taken using telezoom and somehow it looks like unreal, colors weird, even that I tried to correct them with photoshop. Anyway, winterwheel and tinted windows are shown.

    its lookin good.

    welcome miisalo

    98 octane... so when are we going to see those numbers at our pumps here in the states?
    we all keep trying to beat or match our 0-60 time to the car specs with petrol we have here (93 is the highest here where i live now in the US, atlanta, georgia)

    however, i may be wrong, maybe 93 is high enough here for matching hp and nm to the stock specs. anyone?

    No time soon I would imagine, although in BIG cities (and racetracks) you can find some!

    Actually, you are correct. In states, PON octane number is used. PON is about equal as (RON + MON)/2 and 98 RON just happens to be about 93 PON. Only difference is that here in Finland (and northern europe anyway), gas is good quality where ever and when ever you buy it. In states, or so I have read from tuning books, gas quality can differ.

    Some explanations

    RON = Research Octane Number
    MON = Motor Octane Number
    PON = Pump Octane Number

    RON kind of equals as laboratory environment
    MON is more like real life application.

    ..thats why RON numbers are bigger.

    But anyway, gas is not all about octane number, it is also burning speed, energy value and cooling effect. If you take avgas 100 octane airplane fuel, it is very bad choise for car. It does not burn well in car engines (and if I remember corretly, it's specific gravity is quite low. That means, it's quite light, you would end up with 10 to 20% too clean mixture)

    BTW, I will have to put RS6 to garrage for few days and then it'll go to service. In good case, power steering's pump is dying and in worst case: I got to get new transmission (it might be oil pump)

    Welcome

    How's the exhaust sound?

    AZ huh, Jimmy (from this board) just moved there. So we got at least two AZ RS 6 club members here!

    i have one... an rs6+ avant... its black and fast..

    in the uk we get the car pretty loaded as standard, mine was a dealers demo.

    you lot might find it interesting to know that as a paraplegic, i've got hand controls fitted to opperate the throttle and break. having 480 bhp under my thumb gives me a certain feeling of power.

    i dont have any pics yet but i'll get some up sometime soon.

    have fun kids!

    That sounds pretty cool - 480 bhp at your fingertips! :king:

    How do the controls work? With one hand only? Are they next to the steering wheel?

    well...

    on the right hand side of the wheel is a handle attached to a lever arm connected to the break peddle. a simple mechanical linkage.

    the throttle is fly by wire, i have something which looks like a pen with a plunger at one end which you depress to accelerate. this connects to the audi electronic throttle control box via a cable that plugs into the dash and is switchable so the car can be driven in the ordinary fashion. there is a hook on the plunger so i dont actually need to grip it, and i can use in either hand whilst holding the wheel with both hands. its also possible to give the throttle to a back seat passenger to control...! whole new meaning the the phrase "back seat driver"
