As far as I can remember, the 18" Ultraleggeras only came in 18x8 with the 5-112 bolt pattern. The OEM RS6 wheels are 18x8.5, so you should really try to find aftermarket wheels that are at least as wide as stock. You'd really be stretching a 255 or 265 series tire on a 8" wide wheel. Probably not ideal.

I did a bunch of research on lightweight wheels for the RS6 and there's really not much out there, unless you want to downgrade to the 8" wide wheel. The Tire Rack does sell their own line of wheels called TR Motorsports. They're 18x8.5, 19lbs, and cost $300 a wheel. The only problem is they require wheel spacers. I hate wheel spacers, but that's just me.

I know tirerack doesn't sell them, but there is someone on this board that has 18's that fit perfect. I asked him before what size but he could not tell me. That would be ideal IMHO.

Do you have a link for the wheel on tirerack you are refering to?

    Here you go:

    TRMotorsport MT1 Matte Grey

I think they'd look pretty good on the RS6.

    Na,

Found these online from a Supra forum. Nice looking set of forged wheels. Weights should be 24ish for 18x8.5

Whichever wheels you may decide to get, please be sure to check and see that they are certified for the excessive weight/loads these cars can generate.
Some wheels cant handle the load and in the same way we need XL tires, we need the equivalent in wheels.

How do we verify that ? On the wheels we have to have 99Y symbol but what about the rims ?

I have 18"x9" wheels with 5x114.3 bolt pattern + spacer to convert them to 5x112.

My 18x8.5 SSR Comps weigh 17lb, 1.2oz each.

    The stock 18x8.5 RS6 wheels weigh 30lb, 8.0oz a piece.

I plan on running 45 pounds of air in the tires on the street.

Here are a couple pics that I just took:

And here's how they look on two RS6.com members' RS6s:

Very nice, not sure I like the way they look on the beast in Daytona, at least in that color, but thats just me!

You should do another 1/4 mile run and see how much faster the wheels really make the car, would be very interesting to see the actual vs. theoretical difference wheel mass makes!

What do you think it will do, 11.45?

It would be a little bit difficult to test that out since you'd have to do the tests back to back and make sure everything else is as close to identical as possible. This means both sets of wheels would have the same exact tires and I don't plan on running the same tires on the SSR Comps as what I am running now.

Based on the changes I've made to the car and the current VCDS logs, I should be running 11.1 to 11.3 the next time out.

My Forged BBS RS-GT's in 19x8.5" are listed at 21.4 lbs each and they are definitely known to be strong wheels. I'm running stock 255 tire size with Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's which I have been very happy with. Same dry traction as the PS2's although definitely much better in the wet.

So 17lbs it is... For some reason I thought it was only a 10lbs difference between the SSrs and the OEMs. Please post results of the new time.
