this Engine is part of the new "green" Car generation. It comes with 250NM (EU5 spec). The new Golf Bluemotion II concept also uses this engine (combined fuel ~3,8l/100km, Co2 99gr/100km).

It's the new magic figure that's the opposite to the performance benchmark of 100hp/L, the new goal is to decrease the amount instead of increase it.

Its the replacement for the old pd 1.9tdi unit.
Similar power and torque. Lower general emissions. QUIETER.

They will eventually also produce a 90ps version.

Not really suitable subject matter for the RSX section. Don't think they'll ever do a 120ps 1.6tdi RS1

I believe this is a stop-gap engine until the 1.6tdi is ready in May.
Don't think they wanted to put that clattery old 1.9 engine into the new car.
