It really should, here in Sweden the Q5 has spanked all of it's rivals in two big tests so far. Looking good!
The result it gets depends on the options the car is supplied with to be tested by the magazines. I read this week's Autocar that the Q5 tested was actually weighing over 1850kgs for a 2.0TDi. Check what Audi quote and you will see a huge difference. It might only effect the driving experience ever so slightly but it will effect acceleration and lap times which many people view as important as looks.
