    whisky experts...help

    does anybody know something abouth this whisky?
    We got it for 20 years...does anybody know what year is bottled...price?
    any infos abouth it?

    bottle is 4.5 l

    One thing is for sure, it doesn't get any better if stored. It's not like a good wine or a Champagne.

    If a whisky is stored on oak, it could have relatively high levels of tannin acid. Wouldn't that make it better, as it ages?

    It's a tradionally blended scotch whiskey. Like the size, though.

    All whiskey, also single malts, are ready to drink and fully mature when there are bottled. Dosen't get worse (or better) when stored, except directly sun , high temp difficulties etc, will damage it. Like cognac, actually.

    I like mostly single malts when it comes to whiskey (despite that Cognac is my favorite digestif), but blended whiskey aims to be more complex (in the middle of the tasting wheel), different from eg. Macallan much more barrel, wine, sweet etc. hints, or in the other end, eg. Coal Ila or Lagavulin, really smoky, sea hints, iodine.... a little difficult to explain in english, hope you get my point.
