    Again Andy, noone expects this 3.0TFSI to be economical, but Audi said many times it is supposed to be a more economical engine than the 4.2 it's replacing...

    Same thing with that 335i test...noone expected them both to spend little, but Audi should spend less...

    That's my opinion...

    it is clear fact that the 3.0T will NOT incur a gas guzzler tax.

    I agree with you, its just that Audi stated economy as one of the main features of the 3.0 T, while in practice it consumes allmost the same amount of fuel as 4.2... Audi was talking abut some 30% less, if I'm not mistaken.

    I would imagine that new 3.0TFSi WILL be a lot more economical if used in Government figure style driving or in long journeys but driven the way we so often do there will be no real saving.

    Remember the Topgear test of Pirus vs M3, in that test the M3 proved to be the more economical.

    I imagine the 3.0T will be quite a lot better in everyday driving. In a race track environment, the difference becomes smaller.
