Improving the performance by moving a temperature sensor

I remembered reading here that by moving a temperature sensor, the performance of the engine was greatly improved.

Can anyone confirm this assumption ?

The only thing I remember is moving the outside temp monitor from behind the front bumper to a slightly different location to get more accurate ambient temp readings..

There was also some concern about the air intake ducts that were not sealed and let hot air from the bay into the intakes..

i don't believe that the ambient temp sensor is used by the ecu. the air intake temperature is teaken by the ecu and is used for metering...

Did anyone made this mod ? Moving the air temp sensor just after the IC should help get more acurate redings.

But on otherhand in all the other cars the sensor is located close to the throttle.
