The most interesting Point is the last Page. The second Brake is about the coming TSI-Engines. They will have a Supercharger ( below 2000 upm ) and a Turbo ( over 2000 upm ). The first engine will be a 2.0 litre -16V - fourcylinder. It will have 200 hp and 280 Nm. This engine will come with the new A4 at the beginning of 2005.

I've heard about this type of engine as well.Originally posted by mjrr

I though it would be something for the upcoming RS4 to save space...?
iI wish i could understand other languages but i can't.....
If that's the case. I can see that engine being charactorised as ugly..I can't see the engine being a good one, if they did that to it...I can understand where "they" got the idea of it from...Superchargers having zero lag and work throughout the whole rev range vs Turbo lag and revs needed for turbo to be of any use.Originally posted by mjrr

It'll work in a mind of a eight year old with basic knowledge about forced induction but not really a feasible idea, abiet a good one.
Intersting to see if the engine comes out in this form and is advertised as a Bi-Turbo or a "Surbocharged engine"
Lancia used an engine like this in their group-B rally car, the Delta S4. They had timing problems with the switch from SC to turbo in the beginning, but quickly sorted it out. After that it went like hell. And eventually it triggered the end of group-B rallying when Henri Toivonen crashed his S4 on the Tour de Corse rally in 1986, killing him and his navigator.
