console connection?

Can anyony tell me what the electrical socket/connection is on the console? (under front center armrest) What plugs in to it?

and it is a connnection for an analogue phone.

these days, there is no point in a hardwired phone - i ripped mine out when i upgraded to rns-e with the b/t module. far better, you just you don't get the phone charged. and with the iphone 3g, you need to charge it every spare minute....

ya, i'm going to pull the cradle out when I get my car back. It's fairly useless.
