One of the biggest downside's on the new A8 is the front and rear bumper design.
Maybe S-line bumpers show a better design to give the car a better look.

even at 500 hp it would rock the house. this time they finally got the spaceframe right. D3 was heavier than jag's spaceframe.

at 550 hp you'd have about 440 of torque. a 4.5 second machine to 60 mph.

A8L - fully loaded with everything. The car in person must look aggressive and fast. The interior cannot be even touched by Bentley. Just amazing. Buying one next year for sure

So far, no A8 has that option...

s-line is forthcoming for sure. but the S8 -given official comments about the new S car separation from the A variants in the lineup via visual changes being much more aggressive than previous generations- bodes really well. it will be a sexy machine.

You seem to be pretty confident about an S-Line A8, care to explain how you know that?

Not an attack, I just think it's weird that the A8 will suddenly be getting an S-Line package when it hasn't gotten anything like that in the rest of its iterations. Audi must think its flagline model shouldn't be getting muddled with what are essentially body kits (but the rest of the lesser models can).

Seem's like the new A8 is a bit on the conservative side design vise exteriorially. Didn't expect a revolution, but agree that it didn't raise any goose bums when I first saw it eighter. But that said it grows on me day by day, and my guess is that it will be presented with a S-Line package in less than a year or so! Reason being that since it's "birth" in the A2, A3 and A4 the S-Line package haven't always been presented together with the launch of the car. S-Line have gotten to be sort of the pre facelift, looking on the last A6 (C6) they changed the whole lower side grilles into something design vise looking like the pre facelift S-Line. Another point is the growth of Quattro GMBH as they have provided most of the S-Line packages to the A- series (suspension, design, colours), guess they wouldn't leave this A8 untouched eighter. just mye 2 cents worth

you're right. the D3 didn't have an s-line option. you make a good point. maybe this one won't have one either.

S8 is something different: not only looks, but also power

More probable 4.0 TFSI ~ 450-480 hp

I think Audi shuold make an S-line. A8 has always been the most driver's car of the class and some more agressive bumpers would be loved by guys who love A8 for its sportyness.

What a dissappointing design ! The interior is ok biut the exterior looks terribly old and not at all dynamic or stylish.

no it should compete with 760 and S63 - they are both at 520-530 hps

That will be the A8 6.3 W12 FSI with 525 hp.

You know, the more I see it (exterior wise), the more I think it should be wearing a "Toyota" badge... i.e. the all new Avalon.

Just too "vanilla".
