Send me a PM if you are concerned about Audi hearing what is said. My figure is a guess based on the rivals around it and what additional equipment if may have over the V8.

I am still interested in you opinions about the TT/R, please highly the parts of the info are wrong.
Search and you will find the truth.

Don't worry i have the engine picture's already, but it would be nice for the rest of the forum.

    It's all very simple.
You have the 4.2 V8 FSI and you have the 4.2 HDZ V8 FSI.
The same will apply for the 5.2 V10 FSI.
btw, the V10 does not look that much different compare to the V8.

Personally, I dont think it is replacing the R8 for the reasons you mentioned. But Audi can suprise us sometimes so I like to confirm with my source.

The V8 model will be facelifted to look like the updated R8 Spyder I think. Can anyone confirm?

Indeed, since difference between R8 V10 and LP560-4 engines are as marginal as possible...

One other thing from very reliable source-current R8 is more fluid to drive car(as we discussed here before). Of course, R8 V10 is faster.

Only one solution for die hard R8 fans(I am one I admit )-both R8 and R8 V10, as manuals of course!

    Kreso and Leadie and Pretender,

Great info you guys are posting. I think we were first on the english speaking net to discuss it once again.

I would be very surprised if Audi introduced the updated A6 line, RS6 sedan, and the V10 R8 all in one day. if they have a V10 R8 parked right outside the forum then it sounds like it will be introduced shortly, though I find it odd because they could have waited until Lexus put out the LF-A....

Nonetheless, this is an exciting time. It would make sense that the V10 will have a slightly heavier rear than the V8 and consequently a trickier handling characteristic. But I I think it will remain much easier to drive than the LP-560 and faster than anything in the entire updated 997 line on the ring- even with their DSG!!!!. I can't wait to see the acceleration numbers..... the M6 and 997 TT will finally have a match in a straight line.

I'd like to see 0-60 in 3.9 officially and 1/4 mile in 11.5 seconds.

ps- standard wheels will have to be different than those on the V8.

let's hope they can keep the premium to less than 30K USD over the V8....

Yes, I meant that after we see the R8 Spyder we will see a facelifted model of the R8 V8. The Spyder is supposed to have different headlights. I agree facelifted coupe wont appear anytime soon.

Just hopped on here from one of the other R8 forums. Nice thread. The second they announce the V10 I'll be on the phone with my dealer asking when he can put me in one.

This car is going to kick a lot of ass. I'll most likely keep the V8 as my beater R8 Then I can drive the V8 when it's crappy weather and not care about washing it so often (black.)

I'd like to see a US base price af $139-142K. Enough distance between the V8 and V10 and keep prices high for both.

Now that's what i call Audi dedecation:

R8 V8 as a "beater" - which is of cource an unappropriate describtion for our beauty - therefore:

    R8 V8 - as a daily driver

R8 V10 - for the special moments in life

I really wish you both of them in your garage
