OFFICIAL: The Audi TT Clubsport Quattro

Audi has revealed an updated version of the open-top TT clubsport quattro at the Wörthersee Tour tuning show in Austria today. The new car was spotted recently by spy photographers and was first seen exactly one year ago at the same tuner show also in concept form. The new version retains the open cockpit and 300hp (220kW) turbocharged 2.0L TFSI of the original concept as well as a new seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox and permanent AWD system.

Distinct features of the car are the low ‘chopped’ windshield, almost invisible A-pillars, chunky rollover bars and a new single-frame grill painted in high-gloss black. The front of the car also features new headlamps with a strip of LED daytime running lights and large air inlets covered by horizontally split black grills.

The track of the car was widened by 66 millimeters versus the standard TT and the rear bumper is designed as a diffuser and feature two large tailpipes made from stainless steel. The brake package is the same unit from the sporty TTS and consists of 340mm ventilated discs up front and 310mm units in the back.

The interior is fitted with a pair of sports bucket seats, a unique high-grip version of Audi’s flat-bottomed steering wheel and aluminum shift paddles. The door pull handle and door opener are also made of aluminum, but are hollow to help save weight.

Audi hasn’t confirmed production plans but the car is likely to be released as a limited edition model later this year.

That would be awesome. I wouldn't mind a hardtop convertible (yea i know it adds weight) and a 350+ R5T....

I mean a "Coupe" with "put a roof on it", not a hardtop convertible.

God I hope so much that what we are seeing here points the way forward to how the TT/RS might look because I am in love with this design. Especially the sill through to the front arch because here is where it looks so much like the RS4, very aggressive, but the rear arch with it's extra width gives to real feeling of huge power.

It's interesting Jarod, your comments on Clubsport becoming the new name for RS, personally I see Clubsport as a Porsche name as much as RS is and in a way Audi can't even use the R letter on it's own because VW now use that for their performance range. It's an issue which has to be resolved before this mighty TT makes it to production.

What about TT/CS or TT R5 or even TT/S clubsport.

I have no worries about the name, just bring it on.
The car as a Coupe' with a 300+ hp R5T engine, S-Tronic and Quattro.

btw, i think the visible exhaust part in the middle looks fake to me.
If look closely you see the normal exhaust underneed.

Having a visible exhaust is something which is unnecessary in my opinion, it's brings nothing to the overall design. But the rest of the looks are amazing, did you happen to see it in person?

Also the engine output is the big debate, I personally don't know the final outcome of that, I have my ideas based on previous RS models versus the S model from the model above it. The S6 compared to the RS4 was 435hp vs 420hp, so based on that I'm thinking 320~325hp compared to the 333hp of the S4 but the actual figure is less important than the power to weight figure, if Audi can keep the TT/RS close to the 1400kgs or less then 325hp with a similar amount of torque should prove to be sufficient to prove a very exciting machine indeed.

No i haven't see it in real llfe.
This car is allmost production ready IMHO.
The only things that will change is the rear valance, more in the line of TTS/S-Line and the front will get fog lights in the lower side vents like the non S-line TT.

    Jarod.

btw, this front view is so cool, realy awesome.

Tell me the last time that Audi produced a concept car which didn't look production ready.

It's the one thing that Audi are really good at among other things. I also agree that the front it brilliant looking, it's probably the best front of an recent Audi, this will certainly be one which when seen in the mirror you will want to move out of it's way. BMW Z4M drivers best take note.

Audi TT speedster 'will be built'

Audi will build a limited production run of the TT speedster we scooped last week, CAR Online can reveal. The company is planning to make between 50-100 of the chop-top TT especially for the Middle East market.

Although spokesmen in Europe have denied any production plans for the unusual open-top TT we spied on test in southern Germany, Audi's marketing director for the Middle East, Bernd Rosenbichler, told us they were planning a small production run for enthusiasts in hotter climes.

'We have been asked [by Audi AG] if we could imagine bringing this car here,' he told CAR. 'We are planning on making the worldwide premiere of this car here and then launching it just for the region.'

Audi TT speedster: just like the concept

The production car will remain very close in design to the 2007 TT Clubsport Quattro concept – as proved by our spy photos. The wraparound windscreen lip remains, as does the strictly two-seater cabin.

Why launch the speedster in the Middle East? The region has just a handful of rainy days a year, making the lack of any roof less of a problem. And Audi is desperately trying to boost its image in this wealthy market; selling a bespoke car built just for the region is a pretty good way of communicating its commitment to the Middle East.

I don't see any use for it in Europe.
It will be parked in the garage most of the time with all the rain we have.
