Manual remains standard gearbox, new S Tronic replaces Tiptronic in models mentioned above...
Kerso,
Are you not commenting on any future models to be offered this gearbox. Surely you could think of one or two, I know I can.
Search and you will find the truth.

What about the R8? R-tronic or the new DSG???
I am not good with mechanics, is this unit same/similar as in the M3 DSG/DCT??
I wonder why only quattro - is the Torsen diff built into that housing too or is it some kind of marketing thing?
Not sure if 550Nm is enought for new 290ps 3.0 TDi - depends if that engine makes its extra power through torque or revs
News we were all expecting but very exciting nonetheless
Anyone wanna translate (at least the cool bits) of the german article??!

So, this is why there isn't A5 3.0 TDI quattro Tiptronic on offer for so long...
translation worked pretty well.
Ill bet the s-tronic improves 0-60 times by 0.2sec over manual.
Would be cool to see launch control too in the S/RS models.
Truth In The Blacklist
I have ordered A4 may be 2 weeks ago with the tiptronic gearbox.
What are the other differences between The tiptronic gearbox and the new DSG, not taking into account fast gear changes? I meen difference in driving, not technical ones.
Cough cough R8 V10... Splutter... R8 V12TDI ... Excuse me, please bad throaght.
should we expect the R8 to go with DSG or stick to the R-tronic transmission? (either V8 or V10 engines)
i don't think the DSG layout works with the R8/ something about gearbox location.
Past- A4, TT, S4
Present- R8 V10
Does anyone know if the DSG gearbox is lighter than the R-tronic gearbox?
