Rhumor for the 2004 S4 340hp and then a 371hp version!!!

They said there will be a 371hp following the 344hp version of the S4 later in 2004. There's also a thread concerning this at http://forums.audiworld.com/s4b6/msgs/12572.phtml or Motortrend little little article: http://www.motortrend.com/future/spied/112_2004fvf/ and I quote here the "article":

Why would they do that? Anyone buying the 340 hp version when it came out will be seriously pissed. I know I wouldbe/will be.

Just read the article thing. AND it would be a coupe? Why do that? Give them equal HP.

But there will be at least 1 year or more before an A4 coupe comes out and then its another while until the S4 version can come out.

Didn't they do a similar trick withe the S3 which came with 210hp first, then 225hp later from the same 1.8T in the same body ?

Steve: 344hp is already a bizarre number to me so 371hp is still ok!

They've done the same thing with S3 so it won't surprise me.

I understand that when they change a model, they change the specs and HP (Like almost any cars) but changing it in the same year that the new model has been release would also piss me off.

That's true, and the same thing happened with the S8: when released in 1999, the engine pumped out 340 hp; in 2001, that number was increased to 360 hp.

The Audi A4 will get a facelift this year, the 3.0l engine in the A4 will also have more power then so may be it`s the same with the S4.. also the 1.8T will have now 190HP? wait you can have 190HP by paying more.. hm.. I´m confused..

I think 371ps is enough, what should the next RS4 give?
