    RS6.com Julian Run

Okay, I figured that it was about time for a new thread since we've pretty much exhausted the LA Auto Show thread...

Here's what I got from the SCCAudi website:

    Leg 1

    Leg 2

And based on these routes, there are no road closures anymore (well, at least that I was ble to glean from the Caltrans site, although it only gave me information on highways/freeways and not local roads). In any event, I am out of town on Sunday until 5 Dec, how about 15 Dec? That's about a month away and should give everybody plenty of time to check their calendar.

Normally I'd be in, but December is not looking doable since I'm campaigning for a certain Congressman right now.

January would work much better for me, but don't let me stop you boys from having fun! BTW, was nice meeting you Greg.

Ben, great pleasure on my end as well. I've got some friends coming into town for Thanksgiving and I might very well just head down there this weekend to give it a quick little spin. I just tossed out mid December for the hell of it, I'm sure folks are also cool with after the New Year.

I am game for the new year - I will be slower since I will have the winter tires on for ski season.... That is if there is any snow this year

I'm game as well Greg. Let's set an actual date. I think the 15th is too early for such a run. However, we can do some smaller GTG on that day? I recommend early January on a Saturday. All meet for breakfast as our starting point in Temecula and hit the roads from there. Hopefully, the cool weather and fog (maybe some light rain) will make it look good out there by then.

Not a problem, I'm fairly committed to getting out there this weekend, so I will report back on what I find and from there we can set a date!

Gang, took my RS6 and some friends out to Julian yesterday. Unfortunately, we missed parts of the 2nd leg but was able to get the final bit in (Mesa Grande roads). What an exhilirating ride. All roads are open! Now we just need to nail down the time.

Yes Greg, "Mesa Grande" has long been considered the "rite of passage" for Audi Owners. You have to drive it once in your lifetime! Let us plan for the first part of January. How is the weekend of 01/04 -01/05 or the two weeks after that? Is everyone ok to work with these dates? I should have my new 20" rims on my S6 by then.

Both those dates work for me.

01/04-01/05 is perfect for me as well! Time for the other local guys to chime in!

Also, apparently there's also the Glendora Mountain Road that's kind of fun. Certainly closer for Richard!

gmbh6 - are you booked both dates?

Richard - I'm game for something on the 15th if people are around?

I am flexible. So, both dates work. Glendora Mountain Run? Nothing like Julian in the Winter though.

Is this the 15th of January I assume? That is a weekday. How abou the weekend before that? Julian or Glendora. Julian is bit more scenic although it might be burned to a crisp.

By the way, Congrats to Audi for being named "Car Company of the Year" by the British magazine Car

Richard, n/m, I thought you were talking about running around Glendora on 15 Dec! When I drove Julian this past weekend, it was alright, nothing too horrible... As it is, I am okay with either route. I suspect Glendora might be closer for most of us?
