Elstimpo, i think that this is RS4 specific. As far as I'm aware the S5 exhaust isn't valued.

To tell you the truth I reckon the S5 exhaust note is even better than the RS4 is, well at least upto 5000rpm. It reminder me of an amg V8, especially from inside the car.

Yes that was interesting, I cant remember I've seen that anywhere else and it was not in the S5 I testdrowe. Also can't remember seeing that as an option when ordering the car.

I prefered the S4 sound to the RS4 too. Sounded more beefy. RS4 has too much DI whine and in lower rpm sounds "flat".

This is not on the present S5 but will be offered as an option in the not to distant future (6months) it's called Audi Drive Select an it's to preview on the A4 first.

Don't think of whats being mentioned here as the exhaust valves in the cylinder head. You would never want to disconect them !!
Its to do with the valved bypass in the RS4 exhaust system.
