"BMW also intends to offer the M5 in a station wagon version—unlikely for U.S. sale, however—that’s rumored for 2005."

V10 and the 500-550bhp is still speculation. I haven't seen/heard it to be confirmed officially. Still looks hideous, despite the rumoured engine and power outputs.

Those rear lights look like... a Japanese-manufactured car. :bunny2: Hundayi (spelling) or something. But the bonnet looks long and nice...

Yeah, you are right about the rear lights...but the most horrible thing on it are the front lights! The current M5/5-series are so much nicer!

I think that picture is edited/enhanced in some way.

In any case the Z4 didn't look nice either on photos, but in reality it's a lot better. Don't underestimate BMW, I am sure the new 5-series will be very nice. Their new progressive steering is very innovative for instance.

I am sure that it is full of techinal goodies. But I don't think I will ever like the new look. About Z4, I didn't know if to laugh or to cry, when I saw it IRL... really... even worse then on pics :bang:

Erik, or do you prefer RS6 now? . Now that you say it, to me it doesn't make sense that they testdrive the new M5 without any masking on it. Is it maybe a eager journalist who edited the picture he took to give it a more sensational twist?

I don't know what bmw is doing with their styling... they used to make quite pretty cars but now..... put a kia badge on the new 5
    and I wouldn't be suprised.

ah well... we'll get used I think

    Hi,

I thought about the same, about the styling but after i have seen one IRL my decision turns.I think the front lights look ugly but the whole car looks "o.k".Last weekend as i was at the Nürburgring i saw the blue camouflaged M5 and it looks good and sounds good.

    Bye,

That car is Korean, not Japanese.

    Hi,

i think the camouflaged headlights look better than the original headlights.I´ve seen this one at the Nürburgring and it looks good.

Ps: If i see the car this weekend i took some detail pics.

    bye,
