Wow - good to know. Still I think 7K rpm is a bit much on a cold engine. I've never gone above 5K. A good reference IMO are the lights on ///M rev counters which I believe show a max of 4.5 or 5K when cold.

I haven't even gotten close to 5K when I see that message, just don't care for ruining my engine.

If its possible to setup just a rev limiter (assuming it actually limits the revs physically) how much would it cost do you think from JD?
Andy is right it does stop at the 7000 rpm shown on the dash.

Im sure it would be possible to just set the rev limit as per your requirements but you will have to email Jeroen for a price.
I think if your wanting to alter the rev limits and play with the exhaust flaps then your better off getting a full remap and have peace of mind in knowing that its been done properly and will run without any issues.

Your right 7k is way too high.

    - detach hose from actuator-thingy
    - clamp/screw hose shut (??? haven't seen the hoses so I'm not exactly sure how you can screw it shut, but screw it (pun intended) - will take a peek tomorrow)
    - secure actuator so that no dirt gets in

What type of hose clamps should I use? What should I use to block off the actuator intake pipe-thingy?
I've done it and here are some photos that may help. Only took a few minutes to do and all I used was 2 small screws for each exhaust side (whatever that will fit snuggly into the open end of the pipes) and a screw driver. Now, flaps are opened at all times without pressing S button, but of course I will still press it for better throttle repsonse.

Just had mine done. Definetly an improvement at low revs. Both sound and the car pulls a little better in second.
