If you don't afford to buy one or don't bother waiting on your Mercedes-Benz SLR here's another way to fix the problem...

That's pretty amazing. It shows what you can do with a bit of will and knowledge! And there's surely a lot of plastic involved!

    more details of this car

    Hi!

Just had an opportunity to talk to the owner of this car and got some details on it. The floor and engine comes from MB 560 SEC (5.0 litre V8). Whole body is made of steel. Lights are bixenon. This car's body was made basing only on 1:18 model and sketches, drawings etc. It took 2 years and lots of money to built it. The windows were custom made in a steel plant especially for this car of one of best hardened glass. The owner very short time after presenting his vehicle to public has encountered a visit from MB people from Stuttgart. They were just astonished with this thing. The owner says the next car he is going to build will be some very rare classic, but haven't said what its gonna be. So that's all I've heard and noted.

    errata

Of course the windows were made in a glass plant, not a steel plant ;-) And what's more, the wheel rims were also cutom made in italy. This car really turnes heads... built 6 months before MB releases it's model to public for 300.00 euros

oswald, thank you very much for the info.

To go further off-topic (hrmm...no, TO GO off-topic) I friend of me and my father is owning an import business who imported hundreds of Chevrolet vans and 4x4's during the late 80's and the early 90's who he made a fortune on is also building an old classical car. Thing is, he refuses to tell anything about the car or what it will be like. He has purchased an mechanical workshop with everything you can imagine where he builds the car - one copy only. When i pushed him i got out that the chassie will be something like an Morgan +8 but with todays standard in performance and handling. He even produces his own screws...that is one amazing man...
