I was shocked when i bought the magazine and saw 911 won...It's nonsense!
How could a rear, six cylinder engined Porsche win over the magnificent R8 which is a one of the world's best on corners and -this time- faster in straight line as well!
I like Porsche, but nobody can take this result seriously in my opinion.

Article final results are miss leading IMHO...
They said in the article that R8 is in its own class in drive dynamics! Look at Slalom 18m and ISO test results... R8 is way faster then 997C4S and even 997 Turbo!

We all know right now that R8 is faster on the track then any 997 model except Turbo and GT3/GT3RS. And difference between R8 and 997 Turbo or GT3/GT3RS is very track dependable. On some tracks R8 is even faster...

In next issue of Sport Auto will be a R8 Supertest with Nordschleife track time(very good one indeed!)...

It will always a victory of unbelievable proportions for the R8 to win against the establishment that is Porsche. Most will say the R8 is the better car but will still choose the Porsche because it's a Porsche.

That is why I like EVO more than any other.

Though a great chassis, I think the interior of the 997 immediatly disqualifies it. If you pay that much for a car, you want to see some craftsmenship. If you buy a Rolex, you don't want some digital casio watch with a Rolex sticker. No, you want a hand crafted piece that demostrates skill, effort, and the culmination of hundreds of years of technological evolution. You can buy a house for what a Porsche costs, but even a VW Golf makes you feel more appreciated. Whenever I see a Porsche Turbo interior, I can hear the Porsche management saying "haha, got you suckers". "Ha ha, wir hassen dich suigers" (I don't know German).
