I recently had PS2s put on my RS6. The overall ride experience is much better, as the tires generate less noise than the Dunlops I originally had on the car.

Golden, I know a kid at discount tires too, he could probably help a dude out with better pricing.

How many other people here have contis? Just trying to get an idea of how much "better" the PS2s will be.

I think I've made up my mind to try some Nitto Invo's. Anybody had any experience with them?

I'm a little concerned that the sidewalls may be flexy. Otherwise, they sound good for the price and have the 99 load rating (which is the only reason I'm not buying BFG G-Force KDW2's which only have a 95 load rating).

I'd love to hear your opinion if you have any first hand experience with Nitto Invo's! Thanks
If you never exceed the limits, how do you know where they are?

FWIW, I have Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s in 255/40ZR18 and I love them. No complaints. Lots of grip, very quiet, awesome in the rain. I haven't tried the PS2s yet, so I don't know how they compare. If anyone's tried both, I'd like to know what you thought. It's getting close to that time...

I've used Goodyear Eagle #F1 DSG3 on several cars, and I have only good things to say about them. They also held up very good on the NS with the RS2

I have tried PS2s and GS-D3s. The Michelins have better dry grip but the Goodyears are quieter, cheaper, and better in the rain. Both held up at DEs and autoXs just fine and are excellent choices. Also, a vote for Bridgestone Blizzak LM25s over the Michelin Artic Alpins in the snow.

    PS2 woes ...

Whilst the PS2's were definitely quieter and grippier than the stock tires, they have rubbed really badly on the struts at the front to the point I'm having to replace them early.

Has anyone else experienced this with PS2's on the 18" factory rims?

    Thumbs up

I recently fitted 255/40/18 Bridgestone RE050A's to my 2004 rs6 after getting 35000kms on the original Pirelli Zero Rosso's. The Bridgestones are fantastic and cost the South African equivalent of $1711 for 4 tyres. They are quiet and inflated at 2,6 bar the grip in the wet and dry is excellent.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Thumbs up Air Mass Meters

Having purchased my 2004 RS6 last year, with only 22000kms, I was concerned that the car had a sporadic jerk under acceleration. The dealers checked it out saying there was no problem. At 33000kms the car developed a problem on start-up. It would rev to 3000rpm and then slowly decrease to idling revs. On driving it hunted between gears.
The dealer replaced one air mass meter and it was fine until the problem came back two weeks ago. The dealer replaced both meters......what a difference!!! I wonder if anyone else has had the same experience?

Removed my P-zeros yesterday and replaced with PS2's..

P-zeros only had 3/32 remaining and were very noisy..

What a difference with the PS2's.. I'm sold

Paid 316 per tire plus a few bucks for mounting and
    balancing.

Audi wanted about 350 per tire but figured your safe
gettting tires at somewhere besides the dealer.

New to the board, a lot of great posts here.

Proud owner for 3 weeks now.. yahoo......

Purchased my 03 RS6 in Saly Lake City. Saved myself
about 7K from the few that are for sale here in California..

42,500 miles when purchased which was pretty good considering you can't stop driving this car..

Changes the winshield ASAP at the dealer. Had 2 chips that were not properly delat with. Reesin everywhere.. grrr..

Did a medium smoke tint all around except for the front of course.. They did a killer job on that....

Overall condition of the car is good considering it's got 4+ years in
    service.

Installing Sirius Satellite next week at the dealer. Also changing the shifter plate which the previous "fleet lease" owner scratched up.. Good thing I was able to obtain another shifter plate from a Audi delaer in Florida..

    Cheers.......

They told me that PS2's only come in XL or 99Y..

Got a chance to take my boy for a mountain run today..

Sad to say but I gave in before they did..

Seem to grab the road very well in the dry conditions..

Lets see now how many miles I get out of them..

Crispix, if you ever find yourself wanting to come and play with some of us Southern california boys, there are plenty of roads around here that are stellar (not to mention that drive down would be awesome).

I have just replaced my contis for Rosso Pzero 255/35 19yxl.
The contis were shite, noisy squirmy and in the wet down right dangerous! Never Again for the moochman!

I did have Goodyear eagles F1 on my 4, and they were brilliant in the wet but they only lasted 8k miles as they were so soft.
So fast, it will re-arrange yer trousers!!

Thanks for the invite.. Just might have to take that drive..

Spent a week in Hunington Beach last August. Had a blast..

The drive here from Salt lake City was awesome.

Hit 150 in the Nevada desert and my boy was crying for more..

Had an 04 S4 that I got rid of last year. The RS6 is essentially in
    league of it's own..

I miss the stick, could only imagine a 6sp in this beast..

Back to the dealer next week to have them check on my clunking
noise coming from the passenger rear. Fear the DRC may be going..

What's the best way to approach them? You suppose they play
kind of stupid on these issues and just blow them off saying everything
    looks fine..

Well, I'm armed with some seriously good info as a results of this
    incredible forum..

Can't wait to get my sirius installed. Have satellite in 2 other cars
    and I'm sold..

Having a new shifter plate installed as well. Previous owner did a good
job of scratching the shiet out of this one.. Arm and a leg for it, but
this car only deserves the best..

    crispix..

Crispix - don't play dumb, go in with all the facts and make sure that if indeed it _is_ a DRC issue that they don't cheap out and just replace the "broken" one. After all, if one goes, odds are, you'll be back soon for at least another repair.
