Banner is slowing down RS6.com?

I've noticed the banner on the page (who could miss it ) and I understand that you must finance the page Erik, but is that also the reason for the bad performance of the whole site? It takes a long long time for all the smilies and pictures to download and it's a bit annoying.

Still I think I speak for all of us when I say that we really appreciate the work on this site!

The reason why the server was slower today was that a few pics and some smileys were on a different server.
We're fixing it. It has nothing to do with the banners.

As Erik said, the specialmade smilies (and some other), the avatars and the menu in the upper right corner of the community is/was placed on my works webserver.
The server was down during the day and that was why it took so long to load the pages.
My work server is up now and we will transfer all the smilies and the avatars over to the RS6.com server during tomorrow.
