Oil Leaks, how bad is it?
Hi guys, I'm a newbie on here as I'm looking to get an RS6.
I've got my eye on one that has done 46,000 miles, but I've noticed two small oil leaks on it.
One is round what I think is the valve cover gasget (about 2-3" from the top of the engine on the rhs)
The other is a staining near the rear diff.
My question are,
1. how common are these (ie do they often leak in these places or does it indicate a well worn car)
2. How expensive do you think it is to fix
Thanks in advance

Right
welcome sidewinder !
The rocker cover gasket doesnt sound to severe
However it sounds like you have a leaky DRC valve at the back, that could well lead to suspension handling and DRC (dynamic ride control) problems.
The latter could be $4000 + to repair

Thanks for the reply.
I know the DRC was leaking and has now been fixed (all 4 shocks and the accumulator etc). Now does anyone know where the accumulator is, it will set my mind at rest if this was the source of the leak I saw in the centre rear underside of the car
