What is the procedure for the C5 RS6 stock radio?
Can't seem to find the procedure posted anywhere.
Installing C5 Allroad hitch on our RS6 this week.
Anyone done it on the RS6?
Tips what to watch out for?
PM sent.
Anyone cut off the end tanks from stock SMIC? Links to photos or tips?
Hitch yes. Car: would not put 500 lb weight on hitch on RS6, will get pushed down too much. i would put 200 lbs down if towing 5000 lb. Otherwise car is pushed down to much in the rear.
Is it the hitch from Justin? (Allraodhitch.com) If so, I am sure he states the rating of the car. He already confirmed that the RS6 hitch is identical to the Allroad hitch (and on the Allroad, the...
What is the source for this information? What brand? The hitch I am using on my C5 (Allroad) is rated at 5000/500. Since it is the same hitch for the RS6, at least the hitch should have the rating,...
I am looking for stock SMIC. Can be leaking or damaged cores. Don't need shrouds.
Contact me if you have some.
500lb tongue weight is the most I have seen on a 2" hitch (maybe the Touareg with 7700 lbs is rated higher, but Europe only goes to 200 lbs on the tongue, and the US aftermarket hitches only are...
I selected the size based on a) input from others that pointed me towards Bell cores of that size b) size/shape of the end takes after they were removed from the old cores
Fitment: TBD (not sure...
Wagners on sale are great. But unless they have a 80% off blue Wednesday sale, they are too much dineros for my taste. Maybe they come out with a poor man's stripper version (without the great carbon...
Getting closer. 10X9X3.5

I love the class 4 hitch on my C5 Allroad (vertical/hidden receiver).
Is there a similar hitch available for the C5 RS6 being essentially the same chassis?
Even if it would only be a class 2...
Thx. Need to see it in person (why would mounting flange for stock core be wider than core?).
Just for me to visualize.
Flow is "top to bottom" or in "long" direction

Just came across this post. I did the epoxy fix on a pair. Static test was fine. But after a few weeks in the car, leaking again. Assume cause: aluminum has very high thermal expansion coefficient...
Yes, have seen 10x9x3.5 thick mentioned. Not sure how stock 2.5 thick cores can be welded onto 3.0 or 3.5 thick cores, but apparently it can be done.
With the end tanks coming of stock 2.6" thick cores, how would they fit on a 3.5" thick core?
I have 6 leaking RS6 intercooler here (don't ask, every used pair I bought was also leaking).
My 'plumber' says he can cut off the tanks and weld onto new cores.
What is the stock core size?...
This is a side effect of the "Eco Boost" (just done by Audi 30 years earlier) of using the turbo to supplement low/mid torque by adding it to a highly efficient naturally aspirated car. In order to...
Same or similar here. Hit a wall at 6k.
Now trying a higher flowing turbine wheel.
Best bang for buck still seems to be an aggressive stage 2 tune on stock turbo (downpipe). Or an upgraded turbo, injectors. Figure your $12k car and say $8k upgrades for total $20 invested, I cannot...

The turbo we installed on the RS6 (currently in winter storage, to be tuned in April) has slightly larger diameter and less blades, in a slightly enlarged OEM turbin housing. The compressor is a...
I was (just for kicks) once doing the math. Using the often cited "tranny is good for 600 lbft" figured I mod the engine (upgraded turbos, fueling, breathing, maybe some WM for octane) and tune to...
