Klint, wouldn't it be the MkII R32? I know it's on the MkV Golf chassis, but would that make it the MkV R32? The original R32 was called the MkI in EVO magazine. Just curious which is which since it's a Euro thing more than a US thing.Quote:

Ben,
I've noticed in the states the "R32" isn't designated with the "Golf" name, as it is in Europe.
So, chances are this model wont be recognised as a golf in the 'states but as a "R32" only, so I can imagine it being branded the MKII R32 in the good 'ole US of A, but for Europe it's the MKV Golf R32.
Ok, but that is still a little weird. Consider the 02-04 RS 6 built on the MkII 98-04 A6 platform. It's not called the MkII RS 6 in Europe is it?Quote:

I would'nt get that car. It still uses the Haldex diff. The 3.2 should be High-Rev. and the Mk V is much uglier than the MK IV.
No, because VW have traditionally labelled their chassis with the "MK/MARK" name, especially in regards to the Golf whereas Audi Don't and the "R32" in the states being called "MKII", is pretty much a made up thing by enthusiasts, a knock off name for the product.Quote:

Audi use the "B" system and as an example BMW use the "E" system.
Besides, what Audi did to the A6 platform in 2002 was just a mild facelift, facelifts don't always get a new designated manufacturing code.
As far as that^^^, I was talking about the original A6 and S6 (95, 96 body style).Quote:

I guess it makes sense now.
