Are you guys using stock plugs with your tuned RS6? Replace coil packs too? I found the stock spark plugs on Parts geek for $13.48 each. Any other sources?

Found it on Rock Auto for $8.72 each
I run stock plugs and a little tighter gap, .024~.025"
This is what I bought:

Just ordered another set from Rockauto along with new Mahle air filters and Apikol MAF seals. Don't forget to search for the most current rockauto coupon code and save 5% additional!
Shoot I missed the coupon
Bosch F5DPOR. I run them in the stg3+ Allroad w meth ink, the st2 S4, the RS6 on the 10secS4 tune, and the EPL 996tt. They are awesome.
The F5DPOR are the stock plugs for the UrS4 & UrS6.
Probably harmless using OE spec plugs with a tune (but I don't/won't). Assuming one isn't driving it hard. The KS will tell the ECU to dial back the timing, but that's no fun. If summers are mild and winters severe may stick with OE plugs. And keep an eye on them.
Not a fan of how NGK's always leak past the ceramic insulator. Seen coil packs partly melted. Can only surmise VAG sourced NGK due to costing in the late 90's.
Have only used German made Bosch FR 5 DTC's in mine. Cheap and readily available. Porsche Air cooled application. Threads are rolled better, so less chance of seizing. I use copper antiseize, but some OEM's specify not to use any. Stuck plugs....are bad, mmm-kay?
Have seen a few cars this season with odd running or mild misfires. No DTC's. Was failing COP's. Plugs showed it. Installed the R8 COP's but not a fan of how the B2 (front left) PCV check valve gets in the way. Then the front carbon cover won't sit right. But seems to run great. Think I'll stick with OE COP's on mine.
Been using copper and silver plugs on my other built turbo car for 25+ yrs. Turbo's are fickle when it comes to plugs.
Kgnast- Was thinking of trying them awhile back....at least the heat range is appropriate. I like the unshrouded center to ground electrode.
Be interesting to see pix of used plugs from the RS6 or 996tt....how do they look?
G2, I have a set of the R8 coils and adapters but haven't run them yet. Heard the dwell is different with the R8 coils and that you need a specific tune to optimize for them? I might ask AMD about it since they are going to be doing a custom Dyno tune on my car.
I'd like to hear more about this too. Recently installed red top R8 coils with fresh NGK plugs gap'd to .025 -.026. Vagcom DTC and logs show random misfires at top end of rpms under boost. Otherwise it purrs.
Need a new tune anyway for the meth kit. Have it unplugged for the meantime.
You don't strictly need a tune with (T)FSI coils, since stock coil dwell time is way longer than FSI ones need - approx twice as long. You will somewhat shorten their lifespan if you stay on stock tune, but other than that it should work fine. Those random misfires are likely related to something else.
Thanks for the info. I'll do some more troubleshooting for my misfire issue.
