Dear pyiu,

you are in need to use Summer Tires with at least the following specs:

Load Index: 96
Speed Index: Y

XL is a mark for reinforced Sidewalls but without runflat specs. Most of the Tires do have XL marks when you are going for the RS6 needed dimensions. (255/40 18, 255/35 19). There are different Tires in 255/40 18, Load Index 95 or 99. Go for 99.

PS: the load capacity of the tyre by two has to cover the actual axle weight of your car.

PPS: Winter Tires are marked with V (240 km/h). The load index has to be at least 95 to go 240 km/h. Do not exceed 240 km/h when using Tires with less than load index 96.

I see this is very helpful.

I appreciate it. However I'm running 20's and all the tires in 20' are 92Y or 92W.

Dear pyiu,

the only Tires available that match the needed facts are:

Continental Sport Contact 2: 255/30 R20Y XL (96)
Dunlop Sport Maxx: 255/30 R20Y XL (96)

If possible, try to go for one of these. Load Index 92 is only 630kg/Tire, 96 is 710kg/Tire. Higher Speeds with LI 92 (>180 km/h) can be critical, especialy when the car is packed.
