VW are to build their own R-class rival.

This story was also run in Autocar, but though this car is interesting, the thing that caught my eye was the story that VW are dropping the V10Tdi from the Toureg for it to be replaced by Audi's V8Tdi with 326bhp and more refinement.

So like the W8, the V10Tdi's wasn't going to be one of those all time great engines like the small-block V8 and the Porsche boxer.

It's my understanding that Audi never used the V10Tdi anywhere, is this not the case?

I thought only VW used it and it is them who have dropped it due to the Euro4 emissions.
