Winner by 7 points, E63 AMG, Best allrounder, best comfort

M5 sportier and better handling. As usually complaints on SMG

THX - M5 performs in all respects with its usual consistency, but the Benz in that particular test must be a lemon example. With its PS/tonne and usually very good Benz slush box, I think that it simply cannot on average or most cases be that slow or can it? 16.5 0-200 - that is RS4 territory!

Those figures on the 0-100 time cant be right. The E55 AMG does 0-100 in 4,7 how can a E63 then do it in 4,9??

E55AMG has much more Torque en almost the same HP.

Weight also about the same.

They are nice, i love the M5 maybe even more than E 63 AMG, but, MAN that E 55 AMG was champion, that torque, that sound!

E 55 is best!

RS 6 is out of competition here, of course! :addict: :kissrs6:

I must say that the AMG63 should walk the M5 in a straight forward acceleration race, if not to 60mph surely over 100mph and be well away by 140mph.

This Merc must have had a cold or something, because it was under the weather.

The interesting thing with these figures is, if the M5 had a manual gearbox and the RS4 had be the one with the DSG box, I doubt you would have been able the separate their two times by as much as a tenth of a second. I hope BMW do bring out a manual and Audi hurry up and give the RS4 the DSG, then lets see which is the king of the hill.

I don't think so, the M5 also beats torque monster the E55AMG from 0-250km/h.

Why make a comparsation between RS4 and M5? I think RS4 vs new M3 is a better comparsation.

This is the first report that has an M5 doing 0-200kp/h in 14.5sec not the 13.5sec of others. This puts it only 1.6sec quicker than the RS4, DSG would quicken the RS4 by approx 1second to this speed, one must think that the M5 would be approx 0.5 slower without it SMG box.

The point I was making is the RS4 is a lot closer to the M5 than we think and if the two gearboxs where reversed eg. M5-manual and RS4-DSG there would have been nothing to separate them, which in may opinion make the RS4 some motor.

It was not a comparsation as such.

I've heard that BMW is also busy making some kind of DSG trasmission. Maybe for the new M3??

That is wright, BMW is also developing dual clutch gearbox, M3 is going to be the first BMW to have it.

If I remember right, it's to same company that developed the DSG for production for VAG.

Has anyone ever hear of a company called Toratrack. They are making a new version of ICT or CVT type gearbox which is going to be the best thing ever.
