Gorgeous! What camera are you using?

I'd like to take some flattering pics of my new Daytona Gray RS4 and have a crappy old Canon Power Shot S200. Looking to spend anywhere from $1k and downward.

Can you share your camera/lens specs?

Many thx!

Enjoy that car, they are awesome!

If you want more info about the pictures you can download them by right-clicking the links (in the full size list) and choosing "save target as". Then the resolution, Camera model and all picture settings are available from the properties of the image.

To access those info, again right click on the image (the one downloaded to you computer, choose properties and in the summary tab click the "advanced" button. Here you are... everything's there for you :)

For the more lazzy of you: :D

Silver and Gray are the best colors IMO. I went with Gray because I had a Dolphin Gray S4 and I wanted to stay in that family of Grays, but the Avus Silver is also a top notch color.

After that I would chose Black and then the dark blue. The rest are too flashy for my tastes but do look good in the right situation :)

Congrats BigRick for your new B7 RS4 and special thanks for your awesome pictures ! :thumb: :rs4addict

Your shots are very professional , the car, the lights, the place, all is perfect. They are even better than those you can see on the official B7 RS4 brochure. Did you took your pictures on the Mont Royal summit ?

Cheers mate !

Thanks for the comments (everyone) :p

The pics were taken from mount Sutton but mont royal might be a good spot also. Today I'm going to the Montérégie National Park for some daylight pictures. I hope the sun will be there also

Cheers

Congratulations and thanks for those nice pictures!

Just curious, do you do any post processing work to your pictures? I find that the white balance on my 20D is never as accurate as I usually have to play around with the leveling on PS.

Honestly, yes... I did a bit of color processing ajusting the balance and the contrast.

Daylight Pics (as promised) this time with my Pentax istDL. The setup is not as good but it shows how the Avus Silver can look different depending on the light.

I'm back from a 4 days ride. Now 2500km (I’m almost there :) )

The car is just incredible in every aspect. Let me explain a bit what I think of the “machine”.

First, there is this monstrous power that you can use whenever you need. The 317lb of torque is almost always present and usable. The first and second are fun to launch the car but 3-4 (5 is somewhat useless on our side of the ocean and 6 is like the overdrive) are simply amazing I’m still a bit too scared to push them to the limit (and still in the break-in)

Second you got that nice effect on knowledgeable people… The nice thing about this car is the fact that you don’t get everyone attracted to your car like a Porsche or a Lambo would do. You only get those that really know what you’re driving. Thumbs up, turning heads and big smiles are frequent when you’re driving. The “wow” factor is just conformable and not intrusive. For example, one guy passed me on the highway 2 days ago and when he got by my side he was just looking at the car and not paying attention to the traffic (a bit dangerous!) then he was begging for a demo of the power… Guess what I could resist the temptation. So I gave him a short demo, a couple of seconds later I was going 215 :MTM: . I then pulled aside waiting for him to pass again. You should have seen the smile on his face (and mine also) :hahahehe:

But that’s not all… All this is also available in a corvette if it’s only what you want. But the rest of the car is so much better. The interior, the seats (even without those European seats) the sound system, those auto-wipers the Quattro drive-train, the sport mode (man the sound of this engine in sport mode, can’t live without it now), the dynamically assisted steering wheel… I could continue for a long time with all those nice too have, but I think you got the point. We get a real sport car and all the gadgets that luxury sedans have, which is not small feat.

One last thing that has to be mentioned: The Suspension. Ho! Glory! to Audi this time :applause:. I owned an S4 (B5 platform) and I had to sell the car because it was becoming annoying to ride on our highways (yeah trust me Québec’s highways are really disgusting) But this time the car can really handle our worst road without having you breaking your teeth while driving and you can also enjoy the stability in those nice curves. And by stability I mean stable like I never saw before (at least in a sedan)

So in summary, the car is great, you get a nice wow factor, a power engine a sublime suspension and all that very well packaged in a sedan. What could you ask more? Ha! Maybe two of them!

Cheers,

Benman

I must admit that I had some help with the pictures. A friend of mine is a semi-pro photograph, you can guess that it helps alot.

The pictures are being used as desktop background on a couple of computers at work. It's kinda weird to see your car on someone's else computer!:hahahehe:

Special thanks to you BigRick for your very nice write up about your fantastic experiment onboard your lovely Avus silver B7 RS4 and your daylight pix. I feel very privileged to read your RS4 feedbacks at level of Québecers perspective. The RS4 is the Über sport saloon and it's definitively our favorite car for most people here, so you are very lucky to have one of the first RS4 in Québec. :thumb:

I benefit from the occasion to thank you Eric for having allowed my friend Stephan B. to shoot your superb RS4, his pictures are simply astonishing. :applause:
