I have a driver's side door trim piece that came loose because of a failure of the double sided tape that affixes it to the door.
On the passenger door, the same part has a parking ding in it.
The part on either door costs $375 to replace including paint work. The warranty will cover the dangling driver side trim for free.
I've discovered I can fix the driver's side myself with 6 - 12 inches of double sided tape. Can I ask the dealer to replace the dented one under warranty for free? Just order the right side part instead of the left? I don't want to cause a problem here, but the piece of tape costs 50 cents and a cup of coffee.
