What models and brands are RS6 owners using for radar detectors? Are you just using dashboard type models, or are you having them installed?

Valentine One is the only way to go. I've been through the escort, and the passport. Nothing comes close to the V-1.

Passport 8500 has been working great for me for over a year now.

How about the Escort SR 7 that has to be professionally installed? The last speeding ticket that I received ( about 7 years ago ) I got after the officer asked me what my window mounted radar was . I have been using the battery powered Escorts for years. I just think that the stealth installation would be better if the performance is anyway comparable. I would like to get the thing off of the windshield. It is expensive $1.100 installed

Thanks for the feedback. The Valentin One website is at

http://valentine1.com

They refer to a Car and Driver that rates Valentine One head and shoulders above the competition:

I'm ordering one pronto. They don't seem to have an installed version.

Isnīt the Bel Air Euro version the best unit to use in Europe. I yhink it has all the bands used in Europe and you can cjoose from country to country. I thought that the Valentine was more proper to USA roads, am I wrong?

I ordered the Valentine today and will have it Wednesday. I wish it was so quick and easy to get the RS6 here! This wait is going to do me in.

Has anyone who has the Valentine gotten a ticket while using it? If yes was it with laser or what were the circumstances?

Ya. one ticket, instant on KA band at night. Rule of thumb- Make sure there are always cars 150-200 yards in front of you to pick up instant on.

Not sure about Bell - did not have good experience with it few years back, switched to V1 and would never go back. V1 will give you the direction of radar beam. Look up the car magazines for detector tests, I believe V1 won last few years.

Ka and Ku bands as well as laser standard on V1. Remote display is a nice option. In Europe you can (need to) disable the US X-band and K-band on V1 (programmable from front panel) otherwise you will go bananas from false signals from microwave band and door openers. If laser is a major problem in your country consider:

Not sure about legality of either one in whatever area you may be - they are legal in CZ and SK. Definitely would not use it in the Austrian Empire - communist attitude :deal: .....
