So, at last...

http://www.rs6.com/pics/Various/M5Hartge-RS4-2.jpg

Here is a short video of a BMW M5 Hartge and an Audi RS4.
As you can see it was raining heavily, so we couldn't really do all the tests as we wanted, nor as many as we wanted.
Call me a whimp, but I was getting aquaplaning in the M5 at 200 km/h + ...

I'm in the M5, and in the run 2 I give the Rs4 about a 1 second go-ahead. From facts we know the M5 is faster (in a straight line), but I was surprised to see how long time it took to catch up.
It really felt like ages. As far as I know the M5 was set to maximum performance, but I think (hope) that the ESP was still on.

Anyway, the M5 runs GREAT with the Hartge suspension, it ought to be stock!

The facts as I know them:

BMW M5 Hartge
~35.000 km
The cars has about 525 hp according to Hartge.
"No limits" - True V Max possible, about 320 km/h
21" Hartge
Silverstone Metallic

Audi RS4
~2500 km
Apart from Abt V Max the car is 100% stock.
19" wheels
Suzukagrau Metallic

Me personally, I think the new M5 is the best looking BMW to date and Hartge's little bits just add to it's appeal.

It does take awhile for the M5 to catch up, doesn't it. Add the MTM supercharger, and it's bye, bye M5.:bye:

Oh yes, and the RS 4 wins the "looks" contest hands down. ;)

Erik thx for the vid . :asian:

Not a big fan of the bright color interiors , but the orange is much more of my liking .

Ben agree with you about the "looks". :rs4addict

Interesting Video, but I am not sure what you mean by it took the M5 long to catch up...I watched it twice....The M5 caught up and passed fairly quickly even with the Head Start (this is not off the line but at speed). Off the line would be an interesting video as well (with no rain).

I have been in a V10 M5, nice interior (although I still think the Audi interior designs are quite nicer), but that RED tooooo much....perhaps tone down the doors to black and just stick with the red seats. Ugly.

I would like to see a stock vs stock comparo video. Is it me or is the RS4 very similar in size to the M5? Looks close. The size difference between the A4 and A6 line is not that great I know. The V10 does not ROAR as much as I thought, although I did not get to drive it YET on my own, I am bargaining for that! Perhaps I'll take the Kids for a visit soon and bribe grandad with the grandkids. LOL.

That RED is another ~11.000 USD...

It is true the V10 is rather quiet, I think the V8 roars a bit more.

No doubt about it, the RS4 looks so much better and with the MTM supercharger it's bye bye! :revs:
