First spyshots of the RS4 during roadtesting in Germany. Autoexpress are saying the possible engine might be the new 3.6L from the Golf R36 with 350bhp, this amount of tuning would put it up there with the RS4 (Bhp per Litre ).

I does look beefie. :thumb:

freerider,

I thought the S3 was getting a lot more power than 240bhp, no one would pay £30K for that, when you will get a R32 for £24K and the new TT v6 for the same price.

They mustn't have got either the power or the price right.

I don't know anything about this. I just posted a direct link from the above link.

I don't think that this is a audi test-mule.

they're writing:
However, the distinctive single windscreen wiper, quick-release bonnet pins and adjustable front spoiler won't make it on to the production version. These racy additions are simply Audi's attempt to give spy photographers the slip.
I can't remember that audi has done such outstanding modifications to her test-mules ever before.
Lookes more like an privatly tuned a3.
Maybe they have very good sources, or they've made a mistake ;)

About the S3: I thought i've read somewhere that the s3 will get 260hp or something like that.

It seems the auto express article is complete and utter garbage.

However, there's no reason to believe that the S3 isn't real. The spec as reported by auto express though I would not trust.

Quoted from Auto Express: "The other alternative Audi has is to modify the 420bhp V8 found in the new RS4."

Oh really !!!

Do they mean spend a fortune to re-engineer the car from transverse installation to a longitudinal install. (Just like Rover did to the 75/ZT to make the MG ZT260 - they went tits up shortly after that)
or
Somehow sqeeze that wide engine in transversely and still manage to get the bonnet shut?

Some of these car hacks are better off sticking to writing about Puntos and Fiestas.

There is so much B*llsh*t in this article you need groinboots to walk true it. :D
The grey car is just a race car tested before having its warstripes and colors on.
The red one however is the new S3 under a camo that will have a 191 kW / 260 hp K04 2.0T FSI engine.
The RS4 engine will no way fit under the A,S,RS3 bonnet either direction.

Hans.

I mean it say.

Though the S3 was getting a lot more power than 240bhp, no one would pay £30K for that, when you will get a R32 for £24K and the new TT v6 for the same price.

Sorry for confusion.
