I was lucky enought to get a ride in one of these S1 Group B cars at Rally School Ireland. A monster in every way, but boy the turbo lag was unbelieveable. This is how it go you brake coming to a corner as you turn in floor it and then, wait ... wait ... wait ... wait ... wait, then just as you straighten up coming out of the corner, bang the power comes full on and you go up the road like a rocket. How the rally pros raced these thing I will never know.

I've read that they had on the rallys some fans in the car, which blow extra air into the engine to avoid a turbo-lag.
