More delays downunder aaaagghhhh!

It seems that either Audi Australia or in the homeland have it wrong. The first information I got was that my car was being built 2 weeks ago. Now I found out that it isnt being built until week 20 (about 15th May I think) and I won't get it until the first week of July.

Is anyone else really pi$$ed off with the delays.

Given that my contract says "not later than May" do you think I can ask for some kind of compensation?? **I doubt it **

I just know that if I gave my customers the runaround in this manner I wouldn't be in business very long. :vgrumpy:

Delays not unusual for cars that are in early production runs. That said, your delay sounds kind of long.

You might want to confirm that your dealer has a decent allocation and is not giving you the run around by re-ordering their order list to give other customers preference Or maybe they didn't place your order when they said they did. Assuming you paid a deposit, that would be pretty shoddy.:w:

Might check with other dealers and see what they have coming or on order, then get your dealer to trade. Most of the early RS4s are dealer spec and not customer configured anyway, so you might get what you want earlier if allocations are sufficient relative to demand in your area.

And call your dealer daily if necessary to keep the pressure on and be sure that one of the first cars off the boat is yours.

I was told the other day that only 2 RS4's were scheduled for Australia each month. The dealer somehow heard this on the grapevine. They said they will try & confirm & let me know later this week.

Let's hope they're wrong.

As I mentioned a while ago mine is also week 20, and due the same time. I was having second thoughts about PB colour, I could cancel and reorder but think that would lead to a long delay.

Sold orders get the highest priority, not dealer spec. The customers orders always come first.

With only 45 comin into Australia and all being sold I dont know my chances of trading with another dealer.

I also heard that there was a limited number being made for Australia ie 1 or 2 a week.

And finally the info I got was that special orders were first starting with the simplest.....which mine is one. Apparently it is the third one my dealer is getting and some guy who put his deposit down 12 months ago isnt getting his until September!

I had a call earlier from my dealer - they were informed that my car is scheduled for Week 24. I should then allow about another 6 weeks.

I queried again the comment about 2 per month and they confirmed that was their understanding.

I thought this was a bit odd and said this meant that it may take up to 2 years to fill current orders. The reply was that supposedly there are already some in the pipeline for Oz.

In the end I think we're in the lap of the Audi Gods.

Guys, mine is a week 20 build, definitely coming June/July, I was considering changing the colour, but that could delay the build date into a build week in the 30's.

It seems that a lot of RS4's are due to be bulit in week 20. I hope you boys are wrong about the 2 per week.Mine should have been week 13 then it was week 16 and now hopefully week 20.There is a boat arriving on the 16th May with the early orders on it; but Audi tell me that their not going to release them to the owners until June !!!!!!!!!.They wanted the press to do the road tests for the car mags first. That sucks !!

The noise under full acceleration sound like a V8 supercar.

My car is week 23 (late June) - due week 33 (mid August).

I was given this info about 3 weeks ago by my dealer.

Ordered Sprint Blue with Recaro S4 sports seats with memory.

I hope there isn't any further delays.

According to Audi Melbourne it should arrive approx 6 weeks after production.Cars built in week 13 arrive in Aust.this week.

I have been told 10 weeks by a couple of Audi people - I hope yr right about 6 weeks.

The elec seats are a no cost option.

Had to pay A$400 ?? for the 4 seat memory function that fits in the rhf door.

Bryan, how does the yellow look, I use to have Phoenix yellow M3, but gone for the more restrained black for RS4.

Believe it or not it doesn't look to bad in the flesh, a lot better than the S4.The RS4 wheels and a darker standard window tint make it look low and mean.

I'd still stick to the black with the darkest tinted windows legally allowed.

The RS4 comes with darker than normal tinted glass and yes the dealer will arrange for the additional film tint.

So Bryan, the RS4 in AUS specs has a tint as standard?

Just heard from a dealer that a truck carrying 5 Aussie bound Audi's burned to the ground on the docks in Germany !!.One of the cars was an RS 4 bound for Perth.

The unlucky owner now has to wait until November before delivery as build dates are now out to August !!!

I'm going to church this Sunday (haven't been for years ) to pray !!

Latest news I have is that the first RS4 for delivery in Melbourne is next week. Mine arrives in Fremantle on the 6th June and then Melbourne in the 11th.

But we should expect to see the first on the road in the next week.:applause:
