Hi Folks,

picked up my RS4 last Friday in Neckarsulm (convenient for me, live about 40 min. away).
I chose Avussilver wanted something more unobtrusive and easy to maintain.
I'm very glad to have chosen this color it looks great to me(and that's what's most important...).
Also have the Sports Suspension plus - me and all the people who have driven the car so far(including my dad who is really used to more comfortable cars) did not mention it was too harsh. I also test drove a SS+ RS4 and was very pleased with the ride.
Also ordered bucket seats - the are more narrow but ok for a slim guy like me.
My opinion: the RS4 was built to be a sporty car - so I think this is the right package.

What's really  :
Broke my leg on 03/28 while skiing in Switzerland - will have to wait 4-6 more weeks until I can :incar: - I think you can call that bad luck :vgrumpy:

Cheers,
Rainer

Congratulations for your choice!!Did you learn something more as you said (http://www2.rs6.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=8466) about "magic" 282 km/h and v/max limiter?

Sorry about the leg.

But at least you can sit down in your garage and admire her. That's not such a bad thing! :0:

Thanks for all good wishes...
The fracture is a pretty typical skiing fracture...
So if everything develops normal I should be getting mobile again to 100%.
That's most important.

Forgot to write: the car is just fantastic.
Driving this car(even in the passenger seat) is a great experience and worth every cent. I'm sooo pleased.

@KK265: Yes I specifically asked my contact person from Quattro GmbH for the real reason to not remove the speed limiter totally. The answer was: 'Yes for various reasons blah blah...'.
So unfortunately not really an answer.
Rumours in Germany are the limitations of the wheels - I don't really believe in this answer.
The only answer I got from ABT in Germany was something with the transmission. Personally, I think everybody should be cautiuos- if Quattro, MTM and ABT all do not go beyond 282 there must be a reason for this other than just a general precaution.

I will try to do some interiour shot's - any special requests ?

Thanks for the pics, very nice.:0:

Love the lowered look of SS+.:applause:

Sorry to hear about the leg but I'm sure you'll have no problem finding chauffeurs to drive you around and get through the run in period. Look at it on the bright side, you'll be able to drive it hard from the first time you get behind the wheel.:rs4addict

Congrads Rainer, the injury could of been worse, one of my colleagues some years ago was killed skiing.

Silver is very understated, what interior trim did you go for ?

Be nice to see some general interior shots.

Hi,

thanks again for all good wishes.
I'm now in week 5 with my broken leg and since it's healing good so far I had a chance to drive the car myself for the first time on saturday.

What can I say - this car to me is worth every cent including the expensive gas.

I had sooo much fun driving it for about an hour. I think I actually never had more fun driving a car before(besides maybe my first drive after I got my license, but that fun was different in my Volkswagen Polo).

Now I'm really looking forward to being able to walk (and drive) normal again.
Should be about 2 more weeks. Driving actually is not a big problem any more, the bigger problem is getting in the car.

I also took some more pics(also some interiour).

Cheers,
Rainer

Hi Gazzab,

I had full leather seats in my last 3 cars - what always bothered me a bit was that they are cold in winter time and need a bit longer to heat up.

Also it is very hard not to get certain wear (although some people think this gives it some kind of character, I personally do not like it). The problem with the bucket seats will be the wear that you will get on the left bulge(or however you call that). No way to avoid that I think, and maybe after I while you just have to go to a saddler.

The cloth looks very good in my opinion, I feel good with that decision.

Great pics. For me, leather with cloth inserts is very practical, and great for if you plan on track events!:0:

Hi Rainer Thanks for posting the pics, your car is exactly what I have ordered-right down to the sun roof (no Nav though not enough roads to get lost here!!). I also think the cloth breaks the interior and subtly gives a contrast, I agree with your aged leather look-I also don't like it. Thanks for making my wait even harder!! (about 40 sleeps to go)Cheers

Nice pics , seems to be diferent colors depending on the light , I like Avus. :thumb:

I chose full leather and maybe was a mistake not a big one but the hot climate will be problematic .

Continue having fun. :incar:
