I'm not a fan of the new Turbo, actually I'm not a fan of Turbo P-cars in general. But I gotta say, in the video the car looked like a monster, even on those roads.

Is it true that a RWD GT2 will not happen? Last I heard the GT2 moniker was dead. The turbo monster will not return, at least not with only 2 driving wheels.

My heart still belongs to GT3 though.

Autocar says that a 525bhp GT2 will be out late 2007.

Well, that was the best video ever on how to properly drive a rental car!:thumb:

The car looked great!

Rumor has it that it will be a re-badged, Turbo-based AWD one.

It is possible that there is not going to be 911/997 GT2, to mutch power on 2 wheels.

I think Porsche don't want to built car that has more than 500 hp on its rear wheels, it would be very hard to control with its engine stuck in the ''tail''.

But, you never now with them.

Öh, Carrera GT?

Ok, middle engine, but anyway. I trust there will be a new GT2

Nice/Thx for sharing the vid. Love the dream of a 911 Turbo - even more than my real world RS4...

Check out 'www.germancarfans.com', believe me the GT2 is coming all 520+ bhp of it, not sure if it rwd, boy it will take a man or girl with big b**ls to drive a rwd 911 with that much power. The only sad thing about it is that I will not be one of them, b**ls not big enough, nor do I have the money, oh well.

Yes...specifically, see:

http://www.worldcarfans.com/spyphotos.cfm/spyphotoID/6060412.002/page/1/country/gcf/porsche/new-porsche-gt2-and-gt3-rs-first-photos

For me., GT3 (best choice and more sporting, and I like lighter sports cars) or maybe 997TT (better daily driver and insanely fast plus 4WD "safety"--but do I really need all that power off the track?). Or just keep my low mileage RS6 and make the family happy....until the 911 turbo S arrives.

What's coming:

997 GT3 : 415 Hp,3.8 dry sump,PSM in a "racing" configuration(less intrusive that on the other 997 range),special colors, and optional 380mm PCCB brake disk(front), maybe PDK shiftgear in later iterations but not at first.

997 Turbo: 480-500 HP, due in Germany around June 2006.

997 Turbo S: 510-535 HP, due in Germany earliest one year after 997 Turbo introduction, or if the 997 C4/C4S and Turbo are very succesful, later

997 GT2: around 2007, latest rumor indicates even not earlier than 2008. Rumored power up to 540 HP. Autobild claims even 550+hp.

Hello all,
The new 997tt here this summer in the states. Told the first ones will be here in June. Also told that 997tt s will be out next year or so with another 40-50hp. As for the GT2, hard to say, given the limited production run, and overall lack of interest due to crazy price (about 50k over 911tt) and difficulty in putting that power down. But you just don't know, look at the cayenne turbo s with 520hp.

Most of the major US magazines have driven it, albeit in germany and northern europe during snow. US drives have not happened yet, but expect them to coincide with the US launch. This months Road and Track had an article, as did last months Automobile and Car and Driver. Just wait for the full US road test reviews.
