I think one of the original Ruf 911s came in that color blue. Can't remember the name right now, however I'll check it out. I believe that it is a Ruf color for the 911.

Any chance Erik can chime in on this one? You may get lucky on the actual color code on this one, as this is most likely a Ruf color code.

The color was in the original 1972 or 1973 Ruf RS 911. It is called
Mexico Blue (http://www.ruf-automobile.de/english/rufmodelle/rgt/medienberichte.htm) for sure. Problem is the color code is not mentioned on Ruf's site.

Further inspection of the WorldWideWeb, and I found the following:

1. Mexico Blue is most definitely a color in the Ruf color code pallete. It was the color of the 1973/74 Ruf RS.

2. According to SnoJet Blue Paints (http://users.accesscomm.ca/rread/tip.htm) website, the Mexico Blue color code number is 336. There are other blues in that very similar tone, all also shown in the site, with their respective codes. I hope you are not buying a SnoJet, however I think the site knows the correct color code.

3. Website Flat-2.net also confirms that Mexico Blue is color code 336. However, the thread that confirmed it, has since been deleted.

4. Color Codes for 1966-1973 (http://members.rennlist.com/tweedt/glasurit.htm). Yes...once again, Mexico Blue shown as 336. On the link above, look towards the bottom of the page. I believe it to be the last color on page 9, as viewed by the pix below. There are other pages, with other hot colors for you to browse through.

I hope this is enough confirmation Ricky. Good luck.

I think it's Mexico Blue (=classic Porsche color) - but beware there are many colors that are VERY similar also from RUF. And to see the difference on a so-so picture is not possible.

The blue R Turbo (that was sold to the US) had the colour AVUS blue, that's L 7921 Azzuro Lipari Zentari 6000 DuPont.

The best is to contact Ruf. Getting that Ruf at last Ricky? ;)

The RT12...amazing car! As you may know I'm running Ruf Center Sweden. http://www.ruf.se (yes, we are working on a new webpage)

I agree with Erik. If you look on the link I provided in bullet item number 4, there are about 3 other blue colors that are extremely similar. I only went on the Mexico Blue hunt. If you can confirm that the car you saw is indeed Mexico Blue, then I guess you have a winner combo.

What color interior you going with?
