Wait a few days and you will see it on the geneve autosalon.

I think the allroad will get the 3.0 TDI and the 4.2 petrol-engine.

I think those three are 99% in option

3.2 FSI
4.2 FSI
3.0 TDI

Maybe even,

???4.2 TDI???

What engines will be available?

Most probably:

3.6 V6 FSI, 280 HP, 360 NM
3.0 V6 TDI, 233 HP, 500 NM
4.2 V8 FSI, 350 HP, 440 NM

Also possible:

4.2 V8 TDI, ~300 HP, ~600 NM

Qisha,

are you asuming, or you have some ''insider'' info?

You confused me with this 3.6 unit, far as i now new allroad will have same engines as A6.

Is that mean that A6 is getting 3.6 V(R)6 unit also?

Dear AndyBG,

the all new 3.6 V6 FSI will also be used in the Q7 (orderable June 2006). No Details yet when this Motor is going to replace the 3.2 V6 FSI in the A6 Series. I predict the A8 will get it first.

Can someone clarify this for me - is the new 3.6 V6 FSI engine based on the 3.2 V6 (found in TT, A3), which is a VR6, or is this engine a further development of the Audi V6 3.2?

3.6 V6, i hear that for first time, the one in Q7 is same as in new Passat for US market, the picture i posted is of that engine, and as you can see its VR6 configuration.
The power is 280 hp.

Also i heard that they MAYBE putting that same unit in Audi A6 and VW Touareg as replacment for 3.2 V6 FSI 255 hp engine in one case and 3.2 VR6 241 hp in other case.

Maybe some other opinions on this issue?

all best,

ANDY

The 3.6 V6 FSI is a new Product, not re-engineered. The first Car officially orderable with this Motor is the Q7.

Dear AndyBG,

Have that brochure myself. Isn't it possible for it to be the same engine as the Passat? Why build an entirely new 280hp 3.6L V6, when a 280hp 3.6L V6 already exists? Audi/VW didn't do that with the Toureg (uses Audi 4.2L V8), the TT/R32 (same engine), the Phaeton (same V8), etc...? Seems a waste of the engineers' time, no?

I am sure that engine is going to be the V6 unit for Q7, we will wait and see.

Dimitri, this looks like some ''Geneva spy work''!

:D ;)
