Multiple people confirmed on rs246.com that RHD RS4 production is ending andLHD production is supposed to ramp up next week. Does this likely mean U.S. RS4 production is beginning? javascript:smilie(':wo:')

I think the R246 story is bogus. What they mean is that production will alternate between LHD and RHD until demand is satisfied against confirmed orders. it certainly isn't finished. So if you order an RS4 LHD or RHD you will get one.
Of course, Audi is concerned about residual values by over-supplying the market and will be careful to match supply and demand. The real problem at the heart of this discussion is that overall demand for the new RS4 has been limited due to its very late arrival. Even the most ardent RS afficionados are shy about taking the inevitable depreciation hit you'll get by releasing the old style RS4 so near to the B8 A4 series/ A5.
Don't forget as well that quattro GmbH has a limited production capacity.
