According to german Automotive newssite Automobilwoche (http://automobilwoche.com/cgi-bin/news.pl?newsId=5489) an Audi spokesman announced the debut of the new A6 allroad on the Geneva autoshow (2-12 March 2006) and the market introduction in summer 2006. No further details to engine lineup and pricing.

I don't think that the dark bodywork (http://www.germancarfans.com/spyphotos.cfm/spyphotoid/6060126.001/pageview/photo/photo/Mini9/audi/1.html) seen in this pic is serial trim -> look at the back door.

Notice the new roof railing, which is silver on the inside (camouflage on the outside?)

Greets
Seb.

I'm kinda curious how many Allroads Audi will sell now that the Q7 will be available? Before, it was either the Avant or Allroad for offroading, now there's an extra choice.

Like with Volvo when they came out with their "offroader". Then the XC90 came out, and now you never see their version of the "Allroad" anymore.

Having in mind that first allroad was probably one of the best ''allround players'' ever, and that it has not small number of people (in Europe, at least) that saw that fact in person, i am not so conserd about allroad future.

The destiny of XC70 is not the same as Audis, after all,

''THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE"

I think the Q7 may prove too big for European tastes.

Given the general ill-feeling towards SUV drivers in big cities, especially in London, anyone driving a car that is significantly bigger than the already large VW Touareg and Porsche Cayenne is likely to lynched.

Whatever, it's a big, long car. it is also a lot less pretty than we hoped it would be. Audi must therefore be hedging its bets by offering two different SUVs.

Good luck.

The Q7 will more than make up any missed volumes in the UK market here in the US. People are lining up for this sort of crap. The Audi dealers have been practically begging Audi for an SUV. Heck, even I've been duped into getting one for the Mrs (and must admit, it's pretty nice). In Germany, sales have climbing steadily as well.

And the Q7 is much better in the flesh than the photos (certain colors of course, better than others). The front end is great, side profile is great, and the weird back end is growing on me. This ultimate "Soccer Mom" done Audi style will do just fine. Shame UK's horrible taxing/ conjesting laws will kill any chance it gets in your neck of the woods.

The new allroad is the best looking 4x4 estate, mini SUV thing, I have ever seen! Its miles ahead of any new Volvo XC in terms of looks and style!
