«The 'Group B' International Motorsports Category was conceived in the late seventies as a return to the 'good old days' when amateur and factory teams alike could run the same production-based cars in either sports car racing or championship rally events. By the early eighties the class had become the 'Godzilla' of the rally scene and what resulted were the most awesome cars ever seen on the rally stages of the world - 600 horsepower, 4WD, turbocharged monsters that could cover forest, tarmac or gravel stages faster than anything ever seen before or since.
In 1986 the door was slammed shut on the 'F1' cars of mountain and forest roads. Faster and faster cars combined with wilder and crazier crowds meant that within the confines of rally car competition the group B rocket ships were just 'too fast to race'. The legacy of Group B, however, is a whole range of spectacular cars that continue to thrill enthusiasts. Features the Ford RS200, Lancia 037 Rally, Lancia 54, MG Metro 6R4, Peugot 205/T16, Audi Quattro, Renault 5 Turbo, Opel, Citroen. Also the amazing Ferrari 288GTO Evoluzione, Jaguar XJ220 Supercar and Prosche 959 - the car that came closest of all to fulfilling the Group B ethos. It won both the Paris-Dakar and its class in the Le Mans 24 Hours Race! Includes awesome action footage and stunning close-ups.»

A must for any rally fans :incar:

For free you would have to get around 100mb per day from them i think. Read their policies.

leblanc: thanks for the vids man! There is nothing and nothing will ever be like group b. I had a chance to see an Audi S1 (600bhp) in person at a local hillclimb event and the thing was out of everyone's league, including the local WRC cars from here. If he gave it full throttle from a standing start it could actually lift the front wheels from the ground :MTM: Not talking about the sound witch is like nothing i've ever heard.

Nice vid to add to my collection too. I also have "Evolution of Rallying" (4.3gigs), "WRC Showdown 2003" (4.3gigs), Colin McRae - Pedal to the metal, Subaru Impreza history and World's Greatest Rallycars. You can find them all on torrents if you want to upgrade your collection as they're really priceless videos!

I too have been lucky enough to see the original Audi group B car in action. The noise it made was awsome, but the thing that struck me to most about it was the way it squatted down and plowed the straight with it's tail down. It looked not unlike a speed boat at full bore.
The Peugeot 205T16 was my Fave though. The first time I saw one of those (admittedly on a tarmac track, not a wooded section) it was jaw dropping
