Ok I want to attend a major Car show this year with my Father.
Should it be New York or Frankfurt?

Frankfurt will smoke the New York show. New York isn't even on par with the LA Show (size wise).
Added plus: Frankfurt has Autobahns:thumb: And what does New York have... besides smog and striking Union Transit workers.:hihi:

Since you said this year - Frankfurt is out of the option list. It takes place every 2 years - after the IAA 2005, the next one will be in 2007.
I don't know about the Ney York autoshow, but after you were considering going to Europe anyway, Geneva in March could be an option for you. Another would be Paris in Sep.
I am considering going to Geneva this year for the first time too, after visiting almost every Frankfurt show since 1989.
The rumoured Audi lineup:
- new TT
- RS4 Avant
- new allroad (A6)
