The 599 GTB is the replacement for the 575M Maranello. No, it will not be called the 600 Imola. Reactions? Mine says it's not classic Ferrari - maybe evolutionary...

Tou're right - compare. Sorry, this is the best picture I could find. You can see that the general profile, raised center of the hood, high front fenders leading to the headlights, and the scoop by the rear wheels are very similar.

Yes, I too see the resemblance to the 'vette. From the rear quarter panel it also looks a little like the Mazda RX-8.

Not sure I like it. The retro touches are nice and I like the lifted "fins" over the front wheels, but on the whole it's a little too cut for my taste. Maybe it will grow on me.

Thanks for the pix, though.

Priced below 612,with performance matching or exceeding CGT and SLR,much better usability then either one of them is not nice enough?
Wait for better pics or better yet wait to see the car in the flesh and you'll change your mind.
That car is really outstanding....

1st: I'd be hard pressed to think that the performance will match or beat a CGT or SLR. Maybe it will, but I'd be real surprised.

2nd: I've never heard from a first hand Ferrari owner that his "Prancing Horse" was more reliable than a Porsche or Mercedes. Always the opposite.

And as for why I said it's "nice, but not $300K nice" is cause I am heavily biased against Ferraris. To me, they are overpriced Porsches. But that's just me. Z06: $70K, 0-60 in 3.8 sec., top speed 198.

98% the performance, 23% the price.:D

So yeah, nice, but not $300K nice.

I meant usability as ability to drive the car normally,in regular traffic ,for which purpose both CGT and even SLR with it's Automatic are not even comparable against the 575.
The 599 is supposed to be even more practical then the 550/575,has power to ratio between SLR and CGT,torque also in the middle of them, so thats what I'm basing my assumptions on.
While the Z06 is a performance bargain of the Century,it is overall much further behind the 599 then Ferrari behind the Porsche and Mclaren.(doubt even that latter, lower priced but equal or better prestige among the common folk ,with equal performance)
