It is usually not that bad. I don't post over there because of the format. I think it sucks. They do have alot of people with good information and expertise about Audis though. Just don't try to go off topic over there, they freak out.

I think this kind of discussion is pure bullshit.

If I want to tune a mustang, a viper or a corvette, I will go with american companies because they will have a lot more experience and knowledge about american muscle cars than europe. Now for european sport car like Porsche, BMW or Audi, I will go for european, more precisely german. Why, well famous tuners have direct connection with factory (Roland Mayer from MTM with Audi, Alois Ruf with Porsche or Alpina with BMW). Also german tuners have german autobahns which are the best test ground ever. And german customers are very passionnate about their sportcars.

I do not mean that american are not good, but they are not as good.

My 0,02 euros.

Cheers from Paris,
Frederic

Yeah, Dahlback is a great tuner.. He chipped S3 (1,8T) to 274hk and 395nm.. that OK with just a chip..

I know the A400 (Rod) guy relatively well - he had some well tuned UrS cars, and he is normally pretty reasonable guy (Frederick may remember him from S list).

But some of the ignorance displayed on AW would piss off even cooler guys than Rod ....

Fair enough. It is true... I'm not going to take a Viper to MTM, and I'm not going to take my Audi to TNT.

I'd rather go with a German tuner for a German car if I know that the shop that distributes/installs their stuff in the US is as good as they are in Europe. Tuning is done differently for Europe than for the United States for certain reasons including the chemistry of the fuel we have here. It's a touchy subject, but I'd rather go to a reputable American tuner for a German car than some schmuck who just got the rights to sell a German tuner's stuff over here. If the shop knows what they're doing though, I'd go with the European tuner.
