V16 BRM for me,

there are plenty of clips out there, mainly from nick mason's "in the red book" which includes a well recorded cd with sounds for most of the cars.

Check it out guys, it had a supercharged 1.5 litre V16 that revved to approx 10,000rpm and approx 550bhp in 1949, when it wasnt breaking down!:)

The best sounding car I've ever heard in person would be the Carrera GT which would be on the list anyway if not at the top. The 360 Challenge Stradale sounds mean as well as the M3 CSL.

2. Koenigsegg CCR
3. Caterham CSR260(with NA 2,3 Ford Duratec Cosworth engine)
4. Ford Cosworth(2l Turbo as in Escort/Sierra Cosworth) Modified


If race cars would be eligible I would vote for all F1 engines, but maybe with the old Ferrari V12 and V8 Cosworth DFV on top...
