View Full Version : The plunge for new wheels

I took what seemed like forever to decide what I wanted to do for new summer wheels for the RS6.

At first I thought I would show Audi, which never offered their 19 inch wheels here in the states, by getting those wheels sent over from Europe. some have gone that route.

Next, I looked at the HRE wheels, which are great wheels, but I didn't think I wanted the 2 piece wheel look.

I did want a 5 spoke wheel, which ruled out the MTM biMoto wheel. Great company, great wheel, just not what I wanted.

So I opted for the Abt Sportsline wheel. Sourced them through AMS (Advanced Motorsport Solutions) in Carson, CA. It is the Abt SP1 wheel, 8.5x19 ET32.

Not cheap at $700 per wheel, but I love their looks. I will use Conti Sport Contacts 2 (a Nordschliefe recommendation), on these wheels, to be mounted in the springtime.

I have photos of the wheels, but couldn't attach them, the jpg files are too large. They can be seen on the Abt site.

Greg, good to hear and good choice on the tires, very Conti tire I ever had I was pleased with.
Will go to check the wheels out, bet they are nice looking.
Question for you though, Why 19 inchers?
I will be getting a tire wheel upgrade in the near future but will not go the 19" route. I would like to research and find a set of wheels that are wider than stock.
I read somewhere a guy did this to his S8 and had diff. width in the back than front wheels but I think that BBS made these wheels custom so as not to interfere with the quattro system.
I bet you cant wait till springtime ehh:D

Great choice. Send me the pix over e-mail if you can, and I can host them for you.
I was hoping to get a set of the Abt rims in 18" to use them as Winter setup instead. Can't wait for your pix.

I got the RS6+ wheels but with the titanium finish. Too bad it is winter and can't put them on till spring. Looking forward to seeing how the car looks with the darker wheels on with my Daytona RS6. Wheels with proper center caps was $2600 shipped.

Thanks for the pix Gregory. I made them a bit smaller, and only included the wheels, as shown below. If anyone want larger size, please let me know, and I will gladly put them up on the site.
